Michael Barrett at Siesta Key

I grew up on the west coast in the San Francisco bay area, and more particularly, Berkeley. And that’s why I never liked the beach much as a kid. The water was always freezing cold and there was often heavy fog and a ‘wet’ cold that Mark Twain once described this way:

“The coldest winter I ever spent was the summer I spent in San Francisco.”

In July 2009, we landed in Sarasota and within two weeks we found Siesta Beach. In my life I had never experienced anything like it. We found ourselves being drawn like magnets to this pristine enchanting place.

The sand is 99% quartz crystal, soft, beautiful and soothing to the feet. The water is about 85 degrees. What amazing energy and what a perfect place for Qigong practice.

Qigong is – what I referred to over the years as – my internal battery charger. Qigong is my friend and it keeps me sane in an often crazy world. For the 20+ years I have practice qigong, I have almost always practiced in doors – for privacy and lack of interuption, but also because cold or heat can have a very disturbing affect on the body when the channel qi (chi) meridians are wide open during practice.

Siesta Key Beach is different.
The energy is perfect and balanced and clean and rejuvenating. One gets a sense that God is present at all times in this magnificent place – and that if we listen carefully we will be able to hear God speak.

This program is a combination of practices that I have learned over the last 30+ years in a sequence that works well for me. Traditionally, Chinese qigong is practiced in the early morning when there is not yet too much activity, it is quiet and the air is still rich with oxygen from the night before. This class will be in the early morning starting (before it gets too hot)

Come join us and start creating a new physical consciousness and an amazing new lifestyle that is fun and sustainable.

We are taking sign ups for a series of ongoing classes in Sarasota, Florida and on Siesta Key Beach.

These classes are the culmination of many years of study and practice of the internal arts and a variety of Qigong and Tibetan “yoga” practices combined.

Balancing and activating the channel qi (chi) meridians

Actively accumulating, managing and storing energy

Anti-aging

Improving comprehensive and core strength

Breath for life

Meditation

Walking guided meditation

grounding techniques

Start with introductory trainings on Siesta Beach and join a core group of regular practitioners who want to improve together – in a group environment. This collective experience creates an ongoing developmental support mechanism.

As we progress and expand the group, we will continue to introduce new exercise practices and create new group experiences at each level of development as the collective joy and abilities emerge and expand. Our qigong practice is for all skill levels. Wherever you are in your development and whatever you chose to accomplish fits here.

Siesta Key is a perfect place to recreate physical consciousness and restore the natural defaults of the original energetic health we were born with. And this practice ties in nicely with the Core Health Workshops we do locally. I AM a Healthy Boomer and am passionate about in-powering other Baby Boomers to be healthy too…

We look forward to meeting you and experiencing this together.
